Operation Napoleon – by Arnaldur Indridason

This latest offering from popular Icelandic crime writer, Arnaldur Indridason, is certainly a fast-moving and very readable thriller. It involves a search for a missing German Junkers bomber which crash-landed on, then disappeared into the enormous Vatnajökull glacier in Iceland in 1945 during the last days of World War II. Upon its reappearance many years later it becomes the focus for top-secret and ruthless American military forces attempts to recover and remove it before its hidden secrets become public. For me, it was not the most impressive Indridason novel I’ve read, but there is certainly plenty of action for thriller lovers here.
