Literacy Week – Chris Grosz

Chris Grosz at King’s College

Chis Grosz is a graphic designer, author, painter and illustrator and  has worked as a poster designer for a number of famous musicians including Frank Zappa, Bob Dylan, Elvis Costello and U2.

His interest in New Zealand history was sparked by working at the Canterbury Museum and it was here he first heard about Kimble Bent  – a sailor, soldier, deserter, outlaw and Hauhau slave.

Chris’s dramatic graphic novel Kimle Bent: malcontent has been nominated for an award in the non-fiction section of the New Zealand Post Children’s Book Awards. The winners are due to be announced later this evening.
